xslt is a functional language

Did you know you can even do higher order functions in XSLT? It's awesome.

XSLT could be a practical way into functional programming, unfortunately most programmers don't seem to give it the time of day.

scheme and lisp come to mind, erlang, and maybe haskell. But a language expressed in xml? Not really friendly, at least to me.
