I think you're setting the bar to high. I think there is unanimous consent that when a child has 1 year, he or she is well beyond anyone's idea of an acceptable stage of development to permit abortion. Generally, if the child has been conceived, then no one would allow such a thing. The question becomes "When is it permissible to abort one's child before conception?". I don't know the answer to that. I don't think any of us do. We all just do our best to do what feel is right should we ever be faced with such a decision.
Depends. If said woman and child has no reasonable access to sanitation and healthcare, I would probably legally allow infanticide for children under 1, until such time, where all my citizens could have reasonable access to sanitation and healthcare, if, that was considered acceptable by the general population.
In New Zealand where I live, there is a general abhorrence to the idea of infanticide, and everyone has reasonable access to sanitation and healthcare. Therefore I would not make it legal in NZ to kill a child under one.

I think if a woman did do this then there would be a lot of other factors to look at. You can not make this black and white.
I'm not sure if it was clear, but that's what I meant in my final sentence.
How about until the child is 18-years old? :P

Giving a child up for adoption is a much better idea. No child that is alive and breathing on its own should be killed. Thats insanity!
I'm with Fuzuku.
I'm with Bish; anything is preferable to killing a child. And how about using a condom in the first place?
It's the whole 'legally' thing ... it's like taking abortion to the extreme and using infanticide as a form of contraception.
