Windows users should just use Notepad, then they can be the Switzerland in the Emacs vs. vi/Vim fight.

Go neutrality! And, err, lack of syntax highlighting, macros, sensible navigation (I mean, using the arrow keys? There are perfectly good letter keys for that purpose!), built-in Lisp environments, regular expressions, project navigation shortcuts, XML validation, tab/space normalization, version control/build system integration and cross-platform availability.
