I try to listen to radio as little as possible, talk, NPR, top 40, country, or rock. I sometimes listen to classical. I am serious that I haven't heard of him. I will google, but it would be helpful in the future...
"Savage is also the author of 18 books including four New York Times Best Sellers: "The Political Zoo", "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder", “The Savage Nation” and “The Enemy Within.”
In show, books and speeches, Michael Savage electrifies and galvanizes his audiences. If you’re looking for someone with an opinion-- who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is-- he’s your man".
I listened to him for at least 20 and probably more like 100 hours so far. how much more do i have to listen to him before i get a free shot at his head with a sniper rifle? I can't stand the man. i think he's an ignorant annoying fuckwit i'd sooner kick in the balls than save from drowning.
tell it like it is? no. shut meaningless invective? yes. he's an example of everything wrong with right-wing punditry.
You might find kicking him in the water quite difficult, Vynce. Grab hold of his balls and give them a good twist. Either that or pretend to save him and then kick him when he's on the shore. As he'll be staggering about; shove him back in.
You have those feelings because you're not listening, but hey, your decision is your decision and I respect that. But why beat a man down that you don't even know? By the way, he has NO party affiliation, he hits each and all parties at will.
I did listen. I didn't hate him until after I listened. he's an arrogant, racist shithead. He thinks suspected criminals should have no rights. He thinks English should be the official language of the U.S. Never mind the fact that he thinks pot is good for you, when that will sell books, and bad for you, when that will sell radio ads. Never mind tha the plays into the aesthetic of violence and hatred so much he chose "Savage" as a stage name for politics. He wants to regulate what goes on between consenting adults behind closed doors, and that's not OK by me.
"He hits each and all parties at will" -- great. but he hits, which is annoying and not constructive and (b) he's a neocon, and I'm a progressive (of sorts). we may both hate both the major parties, but that doesn't mean we have anything in common.
(Why "beat down" a man I don't know? because he goes on the radio and beats down people he doesn't know by the millions.)
Well, as I said: "your decision is your decision and I respect that". Please don't preach to me. I agree that at times he is a little too much to take, which is why I don't listen all the time. However, I do agree with alot of what he has to say pertaining to this country (USA).
"Never mind the fact that he thinks pot is good for you, when that will sell books, and bad for you, when that will sell radio ads."
By this statement I find it safe to assume that you have read some of his stuff? That or you believe everything you see on the internet.
hnightster: You wont change anyones view here on Jyte, especially views on Savage. Many progressive liberals on this site. Just look at the emotion exude in some of these responses. Stay here long enough and you'll eventually figure it out.
I surely was not trying to change ANY minds. I knew this site was full of progressives. I'm here to make some interesting connections, conversation, etc. I often come across the wrong way, just trying to incite some healthy, or frothy dialogue. The claim was meant to do exactly that. If I offend any of you, please don't take it personally.
By the way, cool picture XISTH. Where'd ya get it?
I don't listen to Savage often; when I do, he sometimes makes sense. I respect him as an honest person (honest about his own views), and for being an independent person.
That all being said, I don't think he'd make a great president.
Diamond Square, that is all I'm trying to get across. As I said the claim was meant to spark conversation, I also do not believe that he would be a great, or even good President. However, I find myself agreeing with him more often than not.
Just to give you a heads up about jyte-folk:
we people are a little on the pedantic side. If you really want to spark an intelegent discussion (for instance, something about Dr. Savage's views), it's best to be absolutely clear about what you're saying. In other words, it's probably best to make what you say,
I also do not believe that he would be a great, or even good President.
match your vote (disagree).
Though of the candidates we have to choose from, we could certainly do worse than Dr. Savage. When November rolls around, after all the crap about the candidates come out, I just might have to agree with this claim.
I agree the Michael Savage would be far better than anyone that is actually running for President. But you have to admit that the bar is very low this year.
Yes the bar is about six feet under this year. Americans need to wake up and quit listening to the main-stream media, we need to do our own research and make up our own minds in this election. We have to vote from the heart and from knowledge, not for feelings or appearances.
hnightster, the fact is that there are 3 candidates people will vote for, and 0 other candidates that will get more than 5%. that's just the way it is. deal with it.

No description?
I have no idea who this guy is.
FYI, a quick summary of who he is would be helpful under the description.
Sure you do, Dr.Michael Savage. The talk radio guru.
I try to listen to radio as little as possible, talk, NPR, top 40, country, or rock. I sometimes listen to classical. I am serious that I haven't heard of him. I will google, but it would be helpful in the future...
"unique art gifts"? perhaps you have the wrong URL. do you mean Dan Savage? Michael Savage? some other Savages?
ah, slippage. OK.
uh, no.
not on your life.
What does he have a doctorate in?
epidemiology
Obviously the study of the health or illnesses of populations makes him qualified to run a nation.
Maybe you should widen your horizons and listen to him, just once.
Borrowed from his web site:

Dr salvage. Thanks to Vynce his comments, we are not interested in this creature.
I thought you meant this one

in last sentence:
"... about the candidates comes out ..."
Point taken, "heads-up" heeded. In future claims of this nature I will attempt to conciliate your wishes. My bad!!
Is your icon slowly revolving?
No, I just can't decide which angle I like the most. However, after much pondering I think I like the current one best.
Yes, it suggests zooming off into the distance and looks rather good.
Well thank you...then it stays.

+1 hnightster.
Speaking of knowledge, you can see where the government is spending our dollars, courtesy of a few senators, including one from Illinois.
Interesting link, thanx Glad.

I'm dealing.
