I agree with DeWe, in that it is too much like the symbol for anarchy, but not because I am bureaucratic. Instead I think that atheists should be careful to distinguish themselves from anarchy.
Too many people think atheists are without morals or values or are evil without inflaming that thinking with an unnecessary association with anarchy.

What's 'horizontal equality'? And what's it got to do with a circle?
If atheists need a symbol I'd go with a no-smoking sign except with the word GOD instead of a cigarette. No explanations necessary.
This symbol, or any like the "no god" sign represent a reactionary position; this just gets the bible bashers' backs up. Best not rise to it and not have any symbol; just get on with the shopping and forget about it.
