There are too many OpenID mailing lists.

It would be better if some or all of security, specs, and user-experience @openid.net were collapsed back in to the general list.

pubsub type facilities would fix this greatly. One location, multiple topics of discussion.
(Funny, that sounds oddly like Usenet...)

Security doesn't need to be in general.
Users don't care about the discussion over the developing specs.
Users care about the problems they have with general use.
Some abstraction is good.

If anything, I would say we could probably do away with the user-experience list. The spec and security ones still serve a good purpose however.

User-experience might need to go, but security and specs should be kept out of the general list to avoid clutter.

I'll go further, I would love to see the discussions on a nntp server!

Lists suck
Forums suck

nntp is a standard protocol

Having them on on nntp, allows splintering of discussions, but the clients "tend" to give much easier ways to cope with information overload. IMHO.
