Because it's a pain in the ass and it's sad. And it usually means you have to go back to the place that he or she got to keep. Boo hiss to all of it.

i had an ex who wanted to keep some of her ex's (not me) clothes at my place. weird.
When things go that far, removing the things feels like a relief.
I'm not sure that I am qualified to vote on this, as my only situation was a divorce, and that gives it a whole bunch more complications than just moving out.
It depends on the person. I had some it was a relief.
