The terms pigsney and leman need to come back into common usage.

Although "paramour" isn't bad either.

Not that fond of paramour either.

I am fairly sure I did give you cred, Roly. knaklet cred, in fact. It should have gone through.

I've been busy and Jyte is getting too hard to keep up with. I do a quick scan of new comments on things I've commented on and check some of that, but keeping up on new stuff is hard. And I dunno, it just seems frustrating. Too much signal. I need to work out better filtering so I feel better about my Jyting.

Yes. I was talking with dewex about this today.

We both agreed that jyte needs to make a leap and leave us old timers behind a bit, in little walled gardens. We badly need better group tools and more views that are narrowing.

Trouble is, Brian and Rorek are so lazy. I blame Kveton. He was a bad influence.

Rorek and bce aren't as lazy as nic thinks.

Oh and I meant too much noise. Not too much signal. But maybe a little of each. Group tools would be nice.

nic: yeah. better saved searches (this in particular) and a few other improvements could go a long way toward making a maintainable sense of community, and thus interest in ongoing participation.

Not only that vynce. I think we basically need the ability to create walled gardens. I think the ignore functionality is the main way to create a social network on Jyte right now... and that is no where near enough. We need to be able to make contacts, join groups, give cred much quicker than we do now so we make it easier to build that network.

Jyte is such a powerful tool... I would expect it to scale really well *once* those tools (and the views of course) are available.

They're so lazy though. Just sit around all day... writing claims and stuff. Never do any work.

On an on-topic note (gasp), I much prefer paramour to either pigsney or leman.

I bet that's just because those words aren't in common use. If they were, people's associations with them would be different.

Well... pigsney has the word "pig" in it. So I doubt anyone would like that much.

You may be right about leman. But I keep thinking of Turkey when I see it and hear it in my head. This is because of the levant and I have no idea if it's a good or bad thing.

Hmm, I could imagine 'pigsney' causing some friction. I can easily see someone being called a pignsney asking "Are you calling me fat?" 'Leman', just not romantic enough.

Try saying it a French accent?

"ma cherie, leman, ma petit cons"

Nah. Still doesn't work for me.

"Leman" sounds like bad 80's movie slang. "I can't go out tonight, Sally. I've to call Le Man and have him come pick up me and Le Bag in Le Car and go to Le Store."

Rachel, do these make sense as referring to different people? "My leman wanted to take me to a movie tonight, but I already have plans with my pigsney"
