I say this as a former regular on rasfwrj: Martin has a much better sense of how to put together a compelling story than Jordan, delivering better characterization, dialog, and drama. Jordan has an edge in setting and readability, I think.
SoIaF has its problems, one of them being that I don't find it particularly rereadable. First-class high fantasy anyway.

Answering this implies either one is good.
I like them both, but I prefer Jordan's writing style enough to more than make up for his pacing problems, which Martin seems to do better with.

I've never read "Song of Ice and Fire" and, I suspect, the only reason I like the "Wheel of Time" is because I began reading it when I was eight.
