The NCAA should eliminate fouling out.

At least, that's what Dick Vitale is proposing here. He's basically saying that instead of a player fouling out, every foul committed after the limit will result in two free throws and the ball for the opposing team. Bad idea, Dick. There are limits for a reason. This would only encourage players to foul more often.

Chris, after reading the article I think there is some merit to what Dickie V is saying. If the fouled team gets the 'throws AND the ball back, there is little tactical advantage to fouling that I can see. This would eliminate a hack-a-shaq type scenario where poor free throw shooter are fouled in order to get the ball back. If a player were to foul over and over on the same possession, the opponent could rack up dozens of points. Am I overlooking something?
