The idea that if homosexuality were a choice it would be acceptable to discriminate is ludicrous.

Such an argument only makes sense if there are other reasons to discriminate anyway - mostly these reasons are straight out of Deuteronomy. The issue of 'nature versus nurture' is a distraction.

It's ludicrous but necessary in the fundamentalist Christian's mind, which believes that God wouldn't create someone who is gay. Gayness is freely chosen sin.
