The fact that male mammals have testicles on the outside of their body argues strongly against Intelligent Design as a likely explanation for the origin of life.

Not universally true: crustaceans have internal testicles.

Even intelligent designers have to make design compromises.

Crustaceans aren't mammals, Rorek!

There are quite a few negative things... it's the evidence for a particular theory you should be advancing.

The evidence for Intelligent Design being the right answer is, errmmmm, The Bible (publishers: Patriarchy plc).

How could you possibly disagre with conclusive evidence like that?

I'm no proponent of ID, but why pick on external testicles? As the crude joke has it, an intelligent designer would not have sited the play area between the sewage farm and the water works: are we now to conclude that the female orifices are also evidence against ID?

nic is right - the evidence against ID is that there isn't any evidence for it.

ID does not imply a benevolent creator. Exterior testicles on mammals works nicely in my personal ID framework.

So you're saying that in addition to design issues w/ exterior testes, there's a design problem with sperm, as well?

Riiight. . . What's preventing an inteligent designer from designing sperm that don't die at body temperature, again?

Regarding dolphin testicles: http://www.dolphins.org/marineed_maternity.php
They have some special circulatory plumbing to cool the testicles with blood from the dorsal fin and flukes.

"Regarding dolphin testicles" sounds like a great claim! Too bad it's not a claim.

Unfortunately, since dolphin testicles are internal, it is difficult to regard them without surgery on the poor beast.

meta, I think that falls into the category of a "red herring" argument -- sorry.

Jesus, StevieB, doesn't anybody have a sense of humour? Of course there's no evidence for ID. This whole claim is intended to be facetious!

However, meta, if you have testicles and ever got a good shot in them, you'll understand what I mean about the design flaw.

It only argues that the designer wanted to ensure the eventual creation of TV shows like Americas Funniest Home Videos.

@S2A: unfortunately there are so many people on this site that would seriously put forth an argument for ID derived from testicles that I simply assumed you meant it! Load of balls, if you ask me...
