Sleep paralysis does not feel like a normal dream; it feels far more real. Yet you often have elements created by your brain, as in a dream. Often the dream elements are nightmarish, and they are influenced by what you are aware of think of, just as dreams. So, it would not be surprising for someone to have an episode of sleep paralysis that was about alien abduction.

I remember one night there was a blue light shining in through my window, and odd noise and I couldn't move. Then I was in my room as normal. For a few min I was sure I blanked out or had my memories altered and it was an alien abduction.

Of course a few min later it dawned on me I was watching a UFO documentary or the X-Files the same day and I live in the middle of a city so a UFO would be sure to be noticed outside my window.

I was also like 14 at the time =P

Good for you for thinking about it. Sleep paralysis feels so real... It was hard to realize that what I had experienced clearly was false.

I do wonder if sleep paralysis also helps to account for witch trials. Maybe some of those accusers did experience people doing horrible things to them, but that doesn't mean it really happened.

Fortunately, I've only had the one incident. Sleeping regularly helps prevent it. I was not getting nearly enough sleep during that incident. It's not surprising that my sleep mechanisms malfunctioned.
