Of course, that's the idea. But its not good for the scientific validity of the poll results since the voters are not voting in a controlled environment.

Human minds are most often weak, confused, and uncertain.Although I am not afraid to vote against everyone else in a claim.
I don't see the problem here. If you want uninformed votes, then I suppose it would matter, but is that really desired or even desirable? The alternative is more like a push poll.
