It's possible to have cred without saying anything, apparently, or to talk everyone's ears off with no effect on credibility.

I like the fact that cred and claims are essentially two entirely separate systems. Everything provides a good basis for giving and receiving cred, including peoples claims and their behaviour during discussions on claims, but also everything outside of jyte as well.

Claims on the other hand can be evaluated on the basis of cred to determine whether you you should believe someones claims about themselves. So although they are separate systems, they can and do influence each other.
