My accent is so RP that the only reason I didn't work for the BBC in the 1950s was that I hadn't been born.
I don't believe you. Nobody speaks RP anymore. Even the Queen has been found to be using estuary english.
I do - well, used to speak a near-RP with extended vowelisms, because now my language is full of Americanisms, but being the elitist bastard that I am, I wouldn't be caught dead speaking estuary English.
