Mercurial needs a Tortoise(SVN|CVS)-like Shell Extension to be successful on Windows

I would like to experiment with it but I'm really deterred by the fact that there is no easy to use GUI. And it's not only a Problem on Windows. Linux could use some nice GUIs as well...

It does have one in dev... but it's not up to scratch yet.

I think a reasonable alternative would be additions to the default web server to let you record.

Then it would be real easy to make a client.
