This is true as far as people don't take away cred they've given you because they don't agree with your claim.
Depends on the claim. I've made at least one that dropped my cred instantly.
You probably shouldn't be too worried about your cred anyway. But I still want more. I don't know what for, but hey, numbers are good. I like big ones.
It doesn't affect your cred, but your self-confidence sure takes a beating.
