Well, it is still the "bible" of C but it has some faults and could have ended the early day pointer wars before they started had it pointed more in their direction. Ha!
_The C Programming Language_ might be the best book on C. It's not the best book on programming.
The wizard book is the best.

I guess, if we're just talking about language independent programming, then the Wizard book was the best. But Scheme isn't that useful in real life.
I don't think it's the best... but it is damn good.
