jabber conference doesn't work reliably in kopete.
But protocols that people actually use work fine
i use im primary for jabber conference (over ssl) for work. no time for random chit-chat here :) so kopete doesn't work for me. gaim/pidgin looks great and blend seamlessly with kde if you use the qt-curve theme.
