Wow, a silent claim fix, yes? From the illiterate "pendant" to the proper "pedant." Must have been within the last month, when Vici saw the malapropism, and now when it has been "corrected." (Consider that the original claimant may have intended the malapropism for comical and ironic effect.)
Do the jyte gods smile on Eilonwy?
But this is concerning: if claims (and comments too?) can be silently changed, that would affect my attitude toward the integrity of jyte. How many claims have been changed in the past? Are there criteria for changing claims? Does a group decide or does an individual?

That's why claims and comments are explicitly fixed: you can't change them after the retraction window. Tags, however, can be changed -- one reason not to conflate claim metadata and claim data.
Hmmm, maybe not. Odd though that Prunella too, someone I admire, would render the word "pedant" as "pendant" in her own reference to this very claim. And I'm sure I've seen the "pendant" spelling used intentionally by people trying to refer with fidelity to this claim about it always being pedantry time on jyte.
Thank you D'A. I have to ask, against every expectation that I have for how jyte is supposed to work with "claim data," was this claim ever worded as "It's always pendant o'clock on Jyte!"?
No, it was not. Sorry, I actually answered an orthogonal question. This claim has always been worded correctly -- Vici simply misread. For evidence that Prunella also mistyped in the reference you cite, note the URL she linked to.

I dunno if that's how I LIKE it, but I have to admit that I participate just as much as anyone.
Pedantry has the horrible affliction of intellect trumping reason.
what does that mean?
*acts embarassed*
"pendant", I mean, and not the kind on a necklace.
You misread; the word is "pedant", which local dictionary your should be able to adequately define for you.
