This is awful. It's so disrespectfull. The right thinking thing to do in this situation is go behind a pillar and remove ones underwear for the blowing of noses and the wiping of phlegm.
I believe there is a chapter in Debbretts on this.
Unholy? I couldn't say. Sacrilegious? Most definitely. That's the difference between your claim and nic's ... it's easy enough to say what's a transgression against a religion, but I doubt it's supposed to be mankind's place to judge 'holiness'.
Indeed, if "sacrilegious" implies unholy (which it very well may, I'm just not sure) I'd have voted on this one.
As for Rael, why not glance at New Advent's Catholic Encyclopedia entry on Sacrilege , specifically where it says "... the usurpation or diverting of property (whether movable or immovable) intended for the maintenance of the clergy or serving for the ornamentation of the church to other uses, constitute real sacrileges."

You are out of your mind!
The papal robe is not a relic, because the actual Pope is not a saint.
All I can say is "Holy Shit!"
If there's no Kleenex available, the robe gets it
Amen, sister.
Bless you my child

Good point. I took it to mean "sacreligous" though.

"Maintenance of the clergy" ... there you go.
Chuckle
*sigh* Would you at least admit then that it's an issue if a non-clergyman were to use the Papal robe as toilet tissue?
Of course, it's the height of rudeness to use someone else's clothing for toilet tissue, regardless of clergy/not clergy distinctions.
LOL!
