John Cramer is planning an experiment to see if he can send messages to the past.
I'm not totally sure what I would do if I were in the same position and discovered I could, but I have some serious fears about what could happen to society if causality were messed with so thoroughly.
I would be very tempted to keep such a discovery to myself.

Vegas and the SEC would probably get upset at my 10 figure checks if they knew that I was getting emails from the future.
I keep flipflopping on this one. Obviously from the personal point of view, it's much more lucrative to keep it to yourself, but if it's true that this happens, it'll come out eventually, and the society needs to adjust.
Once it became widespread, we'd need lots of new laws. The stockmarket is a good one. Would it even make sense any more? Maybe you'd be able to sign contracts with previous versions of yourself, and then sue your past or future self for defaulting.
... for fear of the fear it would create... or if my future self told me to do so.
