If I am using the bathroom and I am alone in the house, I still close the bathroom door.

There's actually a line of sight from the toilet in our upstairs bathroom, through two doorways, and a window, to the townhouses across the street.

That would cut my cats off from their bathroom to no purpose.

In fact there's a problem with this claim: "using the bathroom" potentially describes a number of activities. In some cases I would leave the door open, in others no. And for sound reasons.

By using the bathroom I meant using the toilet...although it would apply to any use including showering/bathing.
