I wish my bank would e-mail me an encrypted file instead of a printed statement.

I've got an OpenID. I've got a GPG key. I've got an e-mail account. Why can't my bank use them and just send me an encrypted XML file rather than wasting trees, stamps and my time with printed statements. E-mail me a digitally signed, GPG encrypted statement (perhaps in XML format!) and I can load it into a database, which is far more convenient for me than faffing around with bits of paper.

I wouldn't take a digital signature in lieu of printed statements

But my bank does provide data for each account downloadable in three different formats, including csv. And PDF format bank statements can be requested instead of mailed statements

I would rather have the official hard copy, though

I don't want my bank to email me any sensitive information at all, encrypted or not. I'm perfectly happy accessing my bank's website over SSL to view my sensitive information.

I don't want to get anything important in email either. Paper is less subject to disasters, both natural and man-made.
