I stopped using Twitter.

Perhaps you stopped microblogging altogether, or maybe you're using http://identi.ca/ or one of its many Laconica cousins http://laconi.ca/trac/wiki/ListOfServers to communicate beyond silos, or... but the point is, you stopped using Twitter.

Like I said, it's decentalized. Think more of a protocol, like the ones enabling email, instead of a service with a trademark.

Besides, Laconica (the software behind Identica and many other microblogging sites) is free software (open source) and has groups, hashtags, xmpp / jabber, sms, conversations, multimedia attachments and links, plus a two-way twitter bridge if you really can't live without it.

P.S.: maybe now's a good time to remind you I work the creators of Laconica and Identica.
