Hmm, this is inelegant phrasing. What I'm getting at is that I have access to all the code that runs my workstation. Although in fact I'm not sure about the video driver. I might be using the closed source nvidia driver, but I think I was too lazy to install that.
I'm forced to use a Mac at work. Then again, the only programs that *I* use on that computer are bash, Firefox, X11, the GIMP, vi, ssh, Adium, and irssi. The owner uses the closed-source stuff (Quickbooks Pro). She "needs" Photoshop so she wouldn't take Linux. She doesn't have Photoshop! Therefore, I installed the GIMP.

I would love to work somewhere that I could use only open source, but I try to make up for it by using only open source at home.
