Of course, it depends on what I'm eating if it's a glass with dinner, but in general, I would prefer to drink a white wine. Provided it's not buttery, wow, I cannot stand buttery wine. I think I've veered off topic here. . .
I have had some very good white and some very good red. I prefer good wines. Most wines I get the option to drink aren't very good. I am not sure how to compare which I prefer, when I have so little range.

Rosé wines combine some of the better aspects of both.
There's a French perspective that these as *really good* sophisticated wines, and I agree!
Then again, the green wines are awesome - in a cheap sake kinda way ;)
