CVS is too unhackable and subversion is a croc of shit.
bazarr is, well, bizarre and arch is just too wierd for anyone (sorry Tom!)
darcs it is. As long as I don't have to build it from source .
I've never really had a problem with subversion. Maybe my needs are just too modest.
You should give darcs a try... it's brilliant if you have a team of people all potentially stamping on each others feet.
Mind you... the java integration (with things like maven etc...) isn't quite there yet.
Darcs is very nice, but I wouldn't call SVN a crock of shit. It's nowhere near perfect, but it's not that bad.
I haven't pinned down what it is I really dislike about subversion... but I do dislike it. Maybe it's just that it's not enough of a leap from CVS.
woot! Nice to see "so many" darcs fans. I knew Jyte was a cool place ;)
I prefer to use TortoiseSVN which makes working with subversion much easier. However, I come from even worse version control systems like PVCS Version Manager. So comparatively subversion or darcs is a dream.
Darcs is amazing. http://wikitravel.org/en/User:Evan introduced me to it a while ago, and I've switched to it for everything that I can.
Yeah, I really like darcs, but subversion's OK. (Actually, I didn't mind CVS much.)
