Good point. It's my informal Southern culture that led me to what could be viewed as a weak phrasing of the claim.
I do like arguing, of course, if there's no malice involved. Even such volatile subjects as politics and sports offer pretty good diversions for daily tedium. If I could edit it, I'd add something to the effect of, “as long as it's not about something too serious.”
I'd also be a less lazy and find that argument sketch.
