1. Pay off my credit cards
2. Pay off my school loans
3. Buy the house I live in
4. Give $100,000 to my parents
5. Vacation
6. Shop like mad
7. Make some donations
8. Invest the remaining $100,000-$150,000
1. Buy/make an armored car
2. Buy assault weaponry and ammunition
3. Recruit a few budget-priced mercenaries
4. Wait for a while
5. Have some fun with whatever money I have left over.
6. Make some videos about how much I hate everyone and put them on Youtube
7. Kill! Crush! Destroy! Exterminate!
8. Mwahahahahahaha!
9. Die when a rocket propelled grenade/laser/high-powered microwave beam/bomb hits my armored car
Wouldn't lack of a plan be a plan in itself? If I'd use $5,000 (wait, the dollar isn't worth anything anymore. $10,000) to pay of my school loans, and then just... Put the rest in the bank or somewhere and wait for it to run out, would that be a solid plan?
Buy a big TV. Get a faster processor for my motherboard, and a lot of ram. Buy the rest of "Fullmetal Alchemist", and another copy of "Haibane Renmei" so I have an extra copy to loan out to people.
Does my "solid plan" have to account for the other $998,500?
If the have-a-huge-bag-of-money goblin visited while I was asleep, I'd probably stash the cash in a high interest account while I figured out what to do with it. Anything over three million would accrue a considerable amount of interest per day.

The plan isn't really solid, though.

Put 20% down on a house in the bay area. If there's anything left over, buy a mars bar.
