A hacker is someone who has a disdain for anything that doesn't work. OpenID does work. And prooveme.com works very well.
Who would you rather have in charge of your online identity provision? A hacker or a suit?
I know which I'd choose.
For the record, I don't think there are many OpenID providers run by suits. I think we're going to keep it that way despite the occasional investor suggesting to me that OpenID is a gold mine (it isn't specifically, what you can do with services enabled with it, is).
