I don't mind some self-promotion as long as it is rare and from someone who clearly uses Jyte for other good reasons.

If all someone does is self-promote, then I'm likely to be annoyed with them. Or anyone who does it frequently. But if it's from someone who isn't a troll who I've seen on Jyte a bit and they want to link to their blog, photobook of their cat, or instructions for how they made their own nuclear reaction, I'm not going to object or mind. I may or may not visit it though. I'd be more annoyed if the site is basically commercial, unless it's a well-established Jyter that has clearly contributed to making the site interesting.

What are your thoughts?

Shameless self promotion is an inevitable aspect of Jyte, though it should probably not be encouraged

Jyte is a cheap but largely ineffective way to advertise a website

I really agree with you Rachel but I wonder if you'd like to buy a pair of Nic's patent Jyte improving sunglasses? We gaurantee that they will protect you from anything you don't like on Jyte! Only $9.99!
