I think those two statements express the same basic underlying idea, and I agree with both of them. I'm not a member of either religion though.

I do not believe that I am God. I believe that I have a soul and that it is a part of God or the spirit of God that is within me.

I agree with RMW, I don't think I can call myself Christian anymore, I don't know. I am searching. For some reason I can deny the bible and other things for various reasons (translation DUH) but Jesus and God still ring true in my mind, I have denied many doctrines of Catholicism also. Just, when I am in Science class, and I hear all this stuff about evolution, I think, 'It is like there is some force sweeping through and bringing life' and I tried to think of anything but God, just to see if it worked, I was telling my friend about it and then it hit me, too many things DO NOT make sense without the existence of a God. With the whole Jesus thing, I don't know, he just seems in my head all the time, he was special. I am pretty sure he traveled to India... man, i gotta stop blogging in the comment box. peeece
BTW, the bible should be taken for its spiritual context.
