At least I *try* not to… but I know several people that do. I try not to hold it against them, & commiserate with an understanding the source of the pissiness; not always an easy undertaking.
It depends on the type, degree, and duration of the pain.
I can handle acute pain to a fairly high degree without being a jerk unless people suddenly make it extremely worse or do not stop pestering me after I have told them to leave me be (this includes constantly asking me if I need help, if they should get a nurse, and whether to bring me painkillers after I have told them there's nothing they can do, nobody can help me, standard painkillers are laughable, and what I really need is to be left to rest - by the third iteration of the questions I have snapped, but not very effectively as I was in too much pain).
But I have found that pain that is absolutely non-stop for over a month, even at a fairly low level of pain makes me extremely irritable. I have deliberately targeted that irritation at people I don't like to try to have a pressure valve of sorts, but chronic pain of types I have not gotten used to is bad for other people.
As Rachel said, it depends on what kind of pain and how much. Actually I can be rather stoic under types of pain that I've encountered before, but can freak out pretty badly if it's something really new.
I think a persons reaction to pain is dependant on their general personality before the onset of aforementioned pain ... I've seen lots of people in pain (skydiving accidents) and they all react in very different ways ... some are complete jerks of course
You should make a claim about whether I am more talkative in real life or on Jyte. Phrase it as a claim and let those who know me vote. If you care. Probably I'm naturally this talkative.
But a lot of it is a bizarre compulsion toward honesty, and short answers almost always leave things out in ways I find misleading and potentially dishonest.

Not on purpose, of course, but it's hard to not be a jerk when i'm feeling crappy.
sometimes i do, but not always.

I have for sure as everyone has but I'm getting better at this and work hard not to. Sucks cause I am in pain a lot!
I do not suffer gladly.

Or when I need to go to the toilet or blow my nose...

I really don't see what being in pain has to do with anything.

Hey Beez, go derail some other claim, k?
