This whole debate seems to hinge on anal sex, though the claims seem to center on 'homosexual intercourse'. Some straight people have anal sex. Not all gay men have anal sex. 'Homosexual' also includes lesbians, for whom the 'penis and rectum' discussion will be largely irrelevant. One imagines, in fact, that much of the 'anal sex safety' curriculum Rachel is urging would benefit straight teenagers who think it's a way to dodge pregnancy, STDs, sin or all three.

Soo. . . Just to make sure, you're not going to be offended if I give you 'anal sex' cred, right? Cuz you bring up an important point, but I hate giving out cred that people don't appreciate.
Yes, but anal sex is a lot riskier than oral sex, and lesbians are at remarkably little risk for STDs. So, a lot of safer sex risk is for straight or bi peopple who engage in vaginal-penile or penile-anal sex and for males who engage in penile-anal sex.
But it's a good point to bring up.
Also, males are at more risk for suicide over homosexuality than females are. Possibly, in part, because they are likely to realize they are different younger. I suspect the imbalance in intolerance is also an issue.
But yes, this claim is very true.

Lesbians are at remarkably little risk for STDsOh, and just to be clear - oral sex has risks. It just has smaller risks than other forms of sex. It's still a lot safer with a condom though.
Heh, thanks for asking first, Ben. No, I wouldn't like having 'anal sex' cred. Thankee though :)
Hey, you gave me tag police cred! I am so honored. It's a fine accessory to my 'pedantry' cred.
