Are you making an Italian racial slur about Solo? Cause that's "Greedo" that that "guido" is wasting. And hell yeah he shot first. He knew how sh!t was gonna go down. He's from the streets, mang.
In th 70s George Lucas' friends were all film geniuses like Coppola. His wife Marcia ran with the gang, and helped edit the movie.
Read the history, and you'll see lots of times where George had some dorky idea for Star Wars, showed it to his wife and friends, who said "that's too corny! try this other idea instead."
This is probably why the first movie was so good. After George made bank and divorced Marcia, he was free to make the dorky, corny movie he always wanted to.
If the former Marcia Lucas ever decides to make her own sci-fi movie, she's got my movie dollar.
(b) You've been fooled by bad revisionist history. Greedo's shot was pasted in by a highly-paid photo-retouching school in an attempt to make Han more electable. You can't trust the camera these days. Original eyewitness accounts are very clear on what they saw, and what they saw was Han Solo exercising a little foresight and initiative of the sort that kept him alive back in those rough-and-tumble years. Greedo never shot.
