Although today was beautiful, I think that weather like today all year round might be bad for farming, or something. Certainly we'd have to deal with more surfers, and people who think it's okay to wear black socks with sandles.
I hear too many scientists saying that there is not significant change. The only people saying there is a problem are politicians and actors who aren't qualified to come to a scientific conclusion on global warming. Therefore, I'm sticking with the majority of scientists.
LinuxTX, your information is just plain wrong. Most scientists in the field agree that global warming is real and a serious problem. Some politicians deny it, some agree with it. But it's mainly scientists who say it is real:
In the past, the world has both been much warmer, and much cooler. The climate has changed in the past before human intervention and it looks like it will continue to change.
But that's not the point of this claim, the point is that Global Warming isn't so bad if we get Hawaii like weather all year long.
True. Change is natural. The Earth will be fine with this change. Of course, in the past with large changes countless species have died off. The lifeforms on the Earth may not be so fine with the change.
Personally, as a lifeform on the Earth, I'm not okay with it. The oceans will become more acidic causing death of sea life. Landforms will change, causing problems to cities. And food supplies may become harder, causing both starvation and human panic/war/etc.
Humans may or may not be fine.
That's where the problem comes in. I don't want to save the Earth. I want to save the people.
And an advanced civilization has never gone through a massive change like this. We don't really know what will happen. But it could be quite bad.

Cold weather is nicer anyway.
Global Warming is a myth... and snow does rock any other weather.
