Did that particular rally work? No idea! I'm just pulling CC-licensed photos that will make my claims look shinier.

But according to Stand for Children, their 3200 person rally two years ago (and "persistent grassroots contact afterward") did win an additional $90 per student, which is perhaps less than they wanted, but is still something on the order of $95 million.
