p.s. Please let me know if you have any problems.
Looks really nice, though I'm not a fan of flash.
Claims inspired by this comment
fiXedd built an image-based version of his charts just to keep T3H happy.Awesome.
@Bruce Stockwell: I'm not a fan of Flash either, but there' not really any other way to do it... unless I wanted to come up with some way to generate graphs in Ruby... this was just easier.
@Rael: Thanks! I suspected you'd like it.
It's nice, though I think it would be good if it showed the number in decimal as well -- Just to give it a little more concreteness.
oh, and kudos for sticking to jyte colors!
and I think it should have a link to your site.
oh yeah... the link!!!!!!
Link added!!! Thanks for reminding me.
no more calculated ratios though?
:'(
I mean, I could, wouldn't be hard. Isn't a giant colored circle a little more glance-able though?
@Bruce: I didn't state myself very well a minute ago. What I meant to say was that I found a more advanced library in Flash than I could find for Ruby so if I did it as real images (ie. jpeg, gif, png, etc) then they wouldn't look quite as pretty. I'll keep my eye out though.
I don't mean in place of the charts, perhaps underneath the labels?
That way, if someone wants specific numbers, they can have them, and still have the cool pie charts.
I like the idea of never having to update again.
I like it too. That was actually what got me thinking about it in the first place.
How about this: put it after the labels for each area. Ex:
Comments-to-Claims (1.23)
chart
Votes-to-Claims (6.71)
chart
Agree-to-Disagree (5.23)
chart
Votes-to-Switches (2.40)
chart
I kinda like your "Relative Cred Status"... maybe I should steal that idea too :)
@first comment: perfect!
@second comment: one less thing I have to manually do.
I'm also not sure if I like the pies separated like that... it doesn't look that great sometimes. Thoughts?
Also, I'm gonna give you credit for the idea on my page... do you want me to use '◇□', 'Logical Dog', your real name (which I don't know), or what?
Well, I would advise against using Logical Dog.
For me, ◇□ is fine, though I'd probably link to my profile, since I'm overdue for a name change.
Well, I was going to link to the profile, I just wanted relevant text for the link.
And no, I won't auto-scrape your profile page to get your current name :)
lol.
that's all right. If people care that much, they'll just click the link.
Thanks.
oh, and sorry bout that... the pic of the dog plus the all the logic talk had me thinking you were him all this time. I'm not sure how I missed that.
@this comment I'm not quite sure what you are referring to; the layout looks quite nice to me.
Take a look at them now. I turned the separation off so you could compare.
I see. I think I agree. non-separated is a bit better; easier to figure out.
For those who aren't currently active... screenshots:
SEPARATED:

NON-SEPARATED:
I think I'll leave it non-separated unless feedback says otherwise.
Pardon the question, but do you think you'd ever consider making the source available (for either the new or the old versions)?
Uh... sure, if you'll let me make it less ugly first :)
There's a lot of code that should have been shared between the two projects that wasn't because, mainly, the first was meant to be a one-off. I'm slowly working to integrate them a bit and make some of it more modular.
If you just want the quick-n-dirty and don't care if it's readable then email me at jeremy.logan [at] gmail [dot] com and I'll send it you're way. Otherwise gimme a day or two and I'll put a link up on the page where you can download it.
Very good F! Much improvement.
Ratio of trashed to total user claims would be good too, if possible.
I'll look into it. It depends on their user pager (I'm so drunk right now that every keystroke requires user_input)
Drunk! My word! You've not been drinking, have you?
Finally implemented ratios. I figured not everyone would want them so I made it user-selectable. If you want to add the ratios you'll need to go back to my site and regenerate the code after selecting yes for the ratios.
I created a 'jyte hacks' thread in the jyte channel on Pibb for future discussion. It was getting a little ridiculous trying to have conversations on here.
Oh, one last thing before I abandon this thread for Pibb:
@DeWe: Do you know where I could get the data for the number of trashed claims? If I can get my hands on that then It'd be trivial to add.
Getting graphs without flash is no longer difficult: http://code.google.com/apis/chart/
Yeah... I just found that. I was literally JUST reading about it.
Ok, there's some image based one's up now. Check em out: fixedd's Image-based Jyte Charts.
Don't know what query you could do through the advanced search to get that value for a specific user. Whether it's possible to generate a query string based on existing forms predictively, I don't know: It's not my game.
Got me thinking, though.
