They're fine on the outside, but you cut into them and they look creepy inside. They're quite tasty, but creepy looking inside. You can do an image search to see some examples, but nothing compares to actually looking at the insides of a real fig.
I'm not sure if it's misspelled. I don't like dried figs, but fresh ones are fairly tasty and sometimes they are prepared well. I don't like fig newtons.
But then, I've never had to go to an emergency room shortly after being around figs. They aren't for everyone.
Also, they're filled with tiny wasp eggs or dead wasps. That's what I find creepy about figs. (They have a weird pollination strategy. The cthul[h]oid nature is because they're actually a sort of inside-out flower, not a conventional fruit.)
Apparently not all figs do, some are self-pollinating. But I don't know if my figs do. So, so much for my fig cobbler idea. I shall make something else instead.

I was given a bunch of figs from my sister's and brother-in-law's garden.
