The basis for the analogy is that usually someone who plays piano has probably at some time learned to play Fur Elise, whereas anyone who plays guitar has probably learned Stairway to Heaven.
I have managed to mostly avoid both songs. Perhaps I should learn to play Stairway to Heaven on the piano and Fur Elise on the guitar.
Geezs he's playing guitar like its a piano. Stair way to heaven is a nice peice of music but I wouldn't consider it the same as fur elise, which I have played a million times. I can't say I like the guitar version though.

Wait, is that actually a peice of music? I don't know it...
There is absolutely no comparison there.

I don't think Stairway is such a requisite for guitarists of genres other than rock.

Page is an excellent and innovative plagiariser and the similarities between these pieces of music illustrate this.
If I were Bert Jansch, I would have at least hit him.

That's nothing... you should see how he plays piano.
