It's bandied about willy-nilly, and means too many different things to different people. It's no longer even a useful word. Modern morality has become to complex to rely on poorly thought out excuses for this concept.
Evil is like love. It is a truly powerful and meaningful word to some people, and a totally valueless term to others. I refuse to say that it's totally useless. I think evil is a valid and meaningful abstract. I just believe that it is nowhere near as useful as people want it to be.
