The best Thai food I've had is better than the best Ethiopian food I've had. But there are 10 or 15 times more Thai restaurants in Portland than Ethiopian ones.
I'm not convinced that most of you don't just need some really good Ethiopian food. There are two places I am quite fond of. Although the only people I've known to have gone there may have weirdly skewed opinions because they are not vegetarians, and thus not comparing the right elements of each cuisine. Damn, now I want ethiopian food, and it's just too expensive.
