I quite like your other idea, that negative cred is negative valued positive cred. So you can't give some "stupid" cred, but you can give them "-clever" cred, which is offset by any "clever" cred they might have.

my both ideas are not about widening creds "namespace" but - about how to express explcitly (by cred donor) that the cred is negative.
This one - about "-" - I like particularly because it's just a convention which does not need any coding
The problem is that -stupid could be interpreted as meaning that the person is not stupid.
Ok, let it be not "-stupid" but "stupid~". Or "stupid*".
