I voted no because the claim feels a tad ambiguous. Driving while you are so drunk you're about to pass out may be more dangerous than tuning out your great aunt as she drones about how painful her varicose veins have been recently. Driving while helping a coworker troubleshoot the wireless network in the office may be more dangerous than buzzing along at 0.08% BAC.
I agree with Brandon, and also would like to point out that there are plenty of people who are total retards on the road while on the cell... Some folks are born to be able to handle both at the same time, and some are not. i don't think being on the phone while driving affects me in the slightest way, so it's hard to imagine where it would be a problem for others, but apparently it is...
Its illegal in Ireland and you get 2 penalty points (12 gets you disqualified) and an 80 Euro fine if you not using a hands free kit (like bluetooth headdset or something liek that).
It is stupidly dangerous when most people in your country drive a manual to have a conversation with the phone to your ear.
I'll agree, just to boost the score, because if the kids see this, they should be scared. Driving a motor vehicle is like driving a potential blender, where everyone else on the road can be easily blended if you're not paying attention. Have happy dreams, kids!
Now, as far as the honesty of the statement... If you're talking on the phone and it's one in the morning and nobody's on the road, you're most probably not going to crash. You're a pretty good multi-tasker. That's why you use Firefox. However... If you're drunk and it's one in the morning, and you're driving for some reason... Well, there are a heck of a lot of light poles, aren't there? I'm sure your car will look just fine wrapped around one.

Although there are degrees of drunk, but not degrees of cell phone use. For that study, drunk is the US standard legal limit, 0.08% BAC.
