Clearly, as evidenced by my recent "church adventure". No, these things are all about getting all the family together, some of whom have to drive a very long way to get there, so grandparents can coo, and relatives with ZPG beliefs can be made to feel like outcasts.

Not every denomination baptizes infants.
While I agree with your explanation, I still think that they are about religion with those added...bonuses, if you will.
