I disagree with boycotting all TV shows (some are decent) though do agree in the sentiment for how poorly TV is delivered to us.

I have no objections to video programming, merely the broadcast format.

I would've agreed with this until I hooked up my TiVo the first time and started getting smart about selecting shows. There's actually some excellent network comedy and drama on right now. After hitting a low point a couple of years ago, the big boys seem to be learning from the positive influences of the cable networks.

When I can pay by the show (either by episode or subscriptions) for shows like the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and Arrested Development, then I'll be happy.

Sorry, I'm pretty sure I'll vaporize if I don't get my reality TV fix ... :-)

Father Ted is too good to miss.

A lot of shows are crap now a days but it'll just speed up Youtube and the likes takeover of the video broadcasting.

Current TV cannot compete with whatever you want to watch, whenever you want to watch it.

For me, my TV watching has a lot to do with what is going on in my life. Right now I live (essentially) alone with a few cats. TV keeps me busy most nights - it may even keep me out of trouble. When I graduate and get a real job, I imagine I'll do a lot less watching. I'll also do a lot less when the shows I'm currently addicted to are canceled.

Interesting. I spend a lot more time watching movies and playing computer games now that I'm no longer in school, and I've got a 'real job' that only keeps me occupied 40 hours weekly, give or take.

Boycotss are only good for when you want a company to change its ways, not for when you want the product to go away altogether. You can seldom achieve the latter, and certainly can't do so with television

I would like to purchase each channel I want to have on television. It's not television's fault that they have lousy packages. I personally prefer movies to television.
