They're usually pretty thoughtful and interesting, even if I disagree.

Thank you. I like to think so, as I very much want to have children. Of course, having children is a gamble - you don't know what you'll get, and you have a responsibility to whatever it is.

But I think I'll have fairly good children, especially as I can raise them to avoid some of the mistakes I made. I know that's cliche', but the mistakes I made are not, so avoiding them shouldn't be too hard. One of my brothers and I helped to discover some of the more interesting genetic aspects in our family. It'll help my nephews, at a minimum.

Oops, I misread the claim, I thought it said "Any claim Rachel makes is likely to be far, far, better than average"

Now that I properly read the claim, I still agree.

Ack, and I misclicked. I didn't mean to vote on this claim at all, because I'm obviously biased. I think I'm correct, but then most people who are biased do.

R, I am assured that any child you have will be of above average intelligence, but worry about the physical health of such a child.

Ben, I've given it a lot of thought, and I think it is unlikely to be a problem.

My ill health is not just genetics. I had an incredibly stressful childhood. I spent nine years in chronic sleep deprivation, from ages 11 to 21, and I was growing from ages 11 to 19. So, that's 8 growing years. (I had a very late puberty.)

I was almost certainly undernourished, pretty much chronically. I was exposed to a unknown number and type of dangerous chemicals.

And we didn't yet know about my family's unusual reactions to caffeine.

With the knowledge that I have and the ability to probably not have any child of mine make even half ot the above mistakes, I think it'll be okay.

Bad eyesight (although correctable), migraines, and allergies are all highly likely anway. But the massive issues that I have are not particularly likely. At least, that's my best guess.

Most of my siblings and both of my parents are in good health. The only one who isn't other than me also had a huge number of bad factors, including several of the ones that I had above.

I did give it a lot of thought, and I really think I can help my children avoid the really bad things that happened to me.
