All public transport services around the world ought to release their timetables and delays information in an open format (ie. XML, JSON, RSS)

There are plenty of useful applications that could be built if there were open data available on public transport networks that could make the lives of people using those services easier.

For instance, I am using Twitter to provide information about delays on the London Tube network and SF's BART system. I'd be able to provide it for a lot more cities if I didn't have to write screen scrapers to get at the data.
